Professional Ballroom Dancer and diet cookbook author Kym Johnson married Businessman and Shark Tank judge Robert Herjavec on Sunday in Los Angeles. The couple met when they were paired up on season 20 of Dancing with the Stars. After their elimination, they continued to see each other romantically and announced their engagement earlier this year. Last weekend, the couple gathered up fellow DWTS cast offs and judges for what sounds like a beautiful day.
It’s a match made in Dancing heaven!
Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec married his former Dancing with the Stars partner, Kym Johnson, in front of family and friends in Los Angeles on Sunday, PEOPLE exclusively confirms.
The bride, wearing a Monique Lhuillier strapless gown, walked down the aisle with her mother and father as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” played.
Herjavec, 53, and Johnson, 39, who got engaged in March, exchanged personal vows in front of guests, which included DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba and alums Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and Donny Osmond.
The couple fell in love during DWTS rehearsals in 2015, and continued to date after they were sent home. “I didn’t think it was possible, but it just kept getting better,” Johnson said.
Now, “I’m just so happy to be going through life with Robert,” said Johnson. “He’s the most incredible person.” Added Herjavec, “I enjoy every minute I spend with Kym. When I met her, I felt complete.”
Robert was married for 26 years prior (the last two years they were separated) and has three children with his first wife. Kym has never been married. As for their 14-year age difference, it doesn’t seem like a big deal for two people who have already forged their own careers and lives.
Let’s get to the fun part – the details. Prior to the wedding, Kym enjoyed a co-ed Bachelorette party in Vegas, where she saw JLo’s show along with buddies Cheryl Burke and Carson Kressley (and apparently met Nicole Kidman). You can see additional pictures of Kym’s dress on People’s website. She looked beautiful. I love the tulle underskirt showing and the romance of the netting on the bodice. I appreciate that Kym walked down the aisle to Somewhere over the Rainbow. I ultimately chose Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring but we seriously discussed my processing to the theme from Jaws. I still kind of regret not doing that but we could only afford horns for the church, no cellos. The couple danced to Etta James’ At Last, which is lovely and quite appropriate, if not very popular, for a first dance. Obviously dancing was going to be a big deal for the couple. Following the first dance, the wedding party joined them on the dance floor to dance to Bills by LunchMoney Lewis. Bills was the first dance Kym and Robert did together so that’s sweet. Sorry, I have no snark here. They seem happy and into each other and the wedding sounds fun. Best wishes to the couple!
